Hastings County council will support another phase in efforts to increase the housing supply in the Quinte region and all of eastern Ontario.
Thursday council voted to grant over $36,000 to the Eastern Ontario Wardens’ Caucus for the creation of a market study and a detailed business plan for the caucus’s 7 in 7 housing plan.
That plan aims to build at least 28,000 residential units, with at least 7,000 of them being “affordable.”
The total cost of the plans will be $468,000 to be shared amongst the 13 member municipalities in the Eastern Ontario Wardens’ Caucus.
