It was a winning Wednesday for Quinte’s Junior A teams.
Ethan Quick scored his 7th of the season on Wellington’s 61st shot on goal to lift the Dukes over the Raiders 2-1 in double overtime in Georgetown.
Raiders goalie Finn Wilson held his team in the game as Wellington held a 61-33 shot advantage.
Dmitri-Alexander Tzaferis (3rd) scored Wellington’s other goal.
The Dukes have won four in a row to move into third place in the OJHL’s East Conference, two points out of first. Their next game is Sunday at North York.
Big 2nd period leads G-Hawks
The Trenton Golden Hawks jumped back into top spot following a 6-2 victory over the visiting Toronto Patriots.
A four- goal second period was the difference.
Adam O’Marra scored his 13th and 14th in the win which comes after the G-Hawks lost three of their previous four games.
Also scoring for Trenton were Charlie Key (5th) Teao Artichuk (1st), Lucas Lapalm (9th) and Corbin Roach (7th).
Trenton is home to the Toronto Jr. Canadiens Friday night.
