More than 100 charges were laid during the Quinte Region Traffic Coalition Safe on Seven campaign on Monday.
The Ministry of Transportation, Belleville City Police, Quinte West OPP, Madoc OPP, L&A OPP, and Frontenac OPP were targeting moving traffic violations, unfit vehicles, and Commercial Motor Vehicles along the stretch of Hwy 7 from Hastings County to Lennox & Addington County to Frontenac County.
Officers were also paying specific attention to the “The Big 4” – impaired driving, distracted driving, aggressive driving, and lack of occupant restraint.
A total of 113 charges were laid including 77 speeding violations and one stunt driving charge.
A 32-year-old Ottawa man was caught travelling 146 km/hr in an 80 zone just east of Marmora.
