The old arena in Napanee, known as the Lennox Agricultural Memorial Community Centre, burned to the ground early Monday.
The Napanee Fire Department was called out shortly before 3 o’clock in the morning after explosions were heard at the York Street facility.
OPP quickly evacuated the homes across the street as a precaution and Kingston and Loyalist Township firefighters were called in to assist.
While the fire destroyed the arena, the Napanee and District Curling Club remains standing although without power.
No injuries were reported.
