The Hastings Prince Edward District School Board has a plan in place to improve students’ abilities in mathematics in certain schools.
The Ministry of Education has identified 26 priority schools for extra focus on math, most in Grade 6, fewer in Grades 3 and 9.
Some 49 teachers will be spread among the priority schools to provide the instruction.
The board’s Math Achievement Plan will be forwarded to the Ministry for final approval next month.
