Bay of Quinte MPP Todd Smith has announced $24,800 in provincial funding for Hospice Quinte, in a press release.
The funds are being provided through the Seniors Community Grant, and will be used to support the Cooking Connections program which aims to teach seniors who have lost their spouse and have no kitchen experience how to prepare basic meals.
The experimental workshops will take place from October until March.
“Seniors Community Grant investments make a big difference in the lives of older adults throughout Ontario, including in Bay of Quinte,” said MPP Smith. “Hospice Quinte delivers great programming for bereaved individuals, and I’m excited this funding will help them to continue living independently.”
Cooking Connections is one of five local programs receiving funding through the Seniors Community Grant. The other four programs have not yet been named.
