Some serious charges were laid following a disturbance in downtown Cobourg Thursday morning.
Around 12:45 a.m., Cobourg police responded to a report of an altercation near King Street East and McGill.
Details indicate the altercation involved an axe, thankfully no one was injured.
A 47-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and mischief under $5,000.
The accused is in court Thursday.
