Over their brief history the Belleville Senators have iced one of the younger teams in the American Hockey League.
That will still be the case this season, however, with 12 returning players and other veterans added, Belleville will bring a more experienced lineup into their 7th American Hockey League season.
Leading the way is Dillon Hetherington. The 28-year-old defenceman and former Calder Cup and World Junior champion enters his third season in Belleville, second as captain. Hetherington likes the make-up of this year’s B-Sens.
Belleville opens the season Saturday in Hershey against the Calder Cup champion Bears. Hetherington says that will be a good test to start the season.
Following their game in Hershey, the B-Sens have a quick turnaround for a Sunday matinee against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.
Belleville’s home opener is Saturday October 21 against the Laval Rocket.
