The Hastings Quinte Long-Term Care Committee is recommending Hastings County Council support Hastings Manor and Hastings-Centennial Manor in their applications to become a Registered Nurses of Association of Ontario (RNAO) Best Practice Spotlight Organization.
According to a report to the committee, the program will allow these homes to work with the RNAO to “implement, evaluate and sustain” long term changes in the home based on best practice guidelines.
The report states that the program aligns with goals set out by long-term care homes.
Key focuses of the program include Person and Family Centred Care, Transitions in Care and Services and could also include Palliative Care, Continence, Pain, Oral Health, Skin and Wound Care or Restraints.
The homes would be able to participate in the program from 2024 to 2027.
