Waste Reduction Week begins next Monday in Belleville and Quinte West (Oct 16-22).
The cities are going to co-host community cleanups and giveaway days.
The cleanup is set for Saturday, October 21.
The hope is to bring community members together to clean up parks, roadsides, and other spaces.
It goes from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
There will be two giveaway days, Saturday, October 21 and Sunday, October 22.
Giveaway days aim to divert items from ending up in landfills.
Residents are encouraged to put their unwanted and gently used household items at the curb for others to take.
