Gleaners Food Bank is thanking the community for making its Annual Food Drive a success.
Gleaners Food Bank Director of Operations Susanne Quinlan says eight tonnes of food was collected throughout Belleville on Sunday with more coming in.
They also received $3,200 in donations.
Quinlan says the food drive provides them with their largest donation of staple items each year.
It was actually their first food drive in a few years due to the pandemic.
Gleaners received help from Albert College, the Air Cadets, Navy League, Scouts and Parkhurst Transportation to collect food from Belleville neighbourhoods.
Quinlan expects donations to continue to roll in with Thanksgiving coming up this weekend.
Donations can always be dropped off at Gleaners (25 Wallbridge Crescent, Belleville) or in the donation bins at local grocery stores.
