8 Wing Trenton’s 424 Search and rescue Squadron is involved in a search for an elderly man and his sailboat in Frenchman’s Bay in the Pickering area.
An 87-year-old Pickering man boarded his boat at Frenchman’s Bay Marina in the noon hour Friday.
He has not been heard from or seen since then.
A 424 Squadron Hercules aircraft and a Griffon helicopter have joined Durham Region Police and Canadian Coast Guard vessels in the ongoing search.
