Belleville police have charged two people from the Toronto area following a fraudulent attempt to buy a car from a city dealership.
Late Saturday morning, a man and woman went to the unnamed dealership and attempted to defraud the business of a vehicle.
Officers intercepted the suspects.
The female suspect was found to be in possession of fake documents and was found to have similar charges laid against her in Vancouver.
The 27-year-old Brampton woman was charged with failing to comply with her undertaking, five counts of possession of forged documents, fraud over $5,000 and identity theft.
A 28-year-old man from Toronto was charged with fraud over $5,000 and has a November court date.
