Some residents of urban Belleville could see someone rummaging through their garbage bags over the next year.
Monday council voted to spend close to $80,000 plus tax on a Curbside Waste Audit.
The goal is to identify how much of the waste now going to landfill is organic or otherwise recoverable.
The audit of garbage will be performed at random homes throughout Ward 1 for the next year.
The streets where the inspections will be done will not be identified in the final report.
This will be the first such audit done in Belleville.
