The 32nd annual Quinte West Coats for Kids program is now underway.
The event was started in 1991 by members of the Quinte West Professional Firefighters Association who saw a need to help kids stay warm during the winter.
Residents are invited to donate new and gently-used kids’ winter coats, snow pants, hats, and mitts of all sizes, or monetary donations.
Donations are accepted year round at Quinte West Fire Station 1, 49 Dixon St., Trenton.
In 2022, Coats for Kids distributed more than 350 coats throughout the Quinte West community.
“Every child deserves to stay warm during the winter season. Local service groups, businesses,
unions, and individual donors continue to make this program possible. The QWPFFA is grateful
for the generous community support Coats for Kids has received over the years,” says QWPFFA
President Jay Coxwell.
In addition to receiving community donations, each year QWPFFA members fundraise to purchase and provide quality winter outerwear as the cold weather approaches.
If you know a child in need of a winter coat or outerwear, please contact the Quinte West Fire
and Emergency Services at 613-392-6557 to book an appointment for pick-up.
Coats and outerwear will be distributed to Quinte West residents with children aged 17 and under by
appointment only.
Proof of identification for the parent/guardian upon pick-up is required.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to bring their child(ren) to ensure proper sizing.
