Brighton Applefest is fast approaching, with festivities starting on Thursday, and the main day of the festival on Saturday.
This year’s fall celebration will include a street festival along main street on Saturday, starting at 10am and continuing until 4pm. Vendors will be set up along the street, showcasing local art, pet supplies, clothing, jewellery, and more. Many food vendors will also be present.
Other Saturday attractions include the Lions club hosting children’s activities at King Edward Park, including face painting, inflatables, and oversized games. Also at King Edward Park, the Meet the Machines exhibit will allow visitors of all ages to get up close to working machines on display from local businesses. A boom truck, bulldozer, grader, and other heavy equipment will be on display.
In Memorial park, starting at 9:30am until 4pm, a music festival will be held. Several acts will be playing, including Brighton All-Star Concert band at 10:00am, Ed’s Garage band at 12:00pm, and Borgin’ and Benni at 2:00pm.
A vintage car, tractor, and motorcycle show will also be taking place at Brighton Public School on Saturday, from 10am to 4pm, with live music and food vendors.
The day’s festivities will end with dancing at the Brighton Community Centre at 7:30pm.
The Applefest parade will not be held this year, due to safety concerns raised during last year’s parade.
