Is it too early to think about the holiday season? Not for the City of Belleville.
As part of its annual Festival of Lights program and seasonal celebrations, the City of Belleville is seeking donations of large spruce trees to be used for lighting displays throughout the city.
Residents or businesses with a 24’ (7.4 meters) or higher spruce tree on their property that they would like to donate are asked to submit the information online at the link below before Friday, Sept. 29 at 4:30 p.m.

City staff will inspect trees and, if deemed suitable for the seasonal tree program, will arrange for their removal at no cost to the land owner.
The trees will be installed at various public locations around the city.
Tree removal equipment will be required to access the donated tree so trees on a side street or in the side yard are usually the most suitable.
After the holiday season, donated trees will be chipped and used as mulch in the city’s ongoing park program.
