A trio of tornadoes has been confirmed to have made landfall in Tweed, during a storm in late June.
The tornadoes all touched down on June 26.
After an investigation, the Northern Tornadoes Project has confirmed that the trio of tornadoes touched ground, after having already confirmed a separate pair of tornadoes in the area at that time. This brings the total number of tornadoes in the area on June 26 to five.
All three of the tornadoes scored low on the Northern Tornadoes Project scale for tornado intensity, with two of them rated EF1, and the third being rated EF0, which is the lowest possible score.
The three tornadoes all touched down just before 5 p.m. and travelled some distance before dispersing. No damage was reported from two of the three tornadoes, while one was reported to have damaged a barn along its path.
The path the tornadoes took was originally discovered by reviewing satellite images, and then using drones to survey the area to confirm it.
