Public Intoxication
On September 9, 2023 at 3:13 a.m., Belleville police responded to a hotel on North Front Street regarding a fight between two adult females. Upon arrival, police spoke to the involved parties. One of the females was identified as the instigator in the altercation and was noted to be intoxicated from the consumption of alcohol. As a result, the female was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place and transported to the Belleville Police Service for her own safety. She was later released when sober and issued a Provincial Offence Notice.
Intimate Partner Assault
On September 9, 2023 at 8:20 p.m., police attended an address in the city’s east end for reports of an intimate partner dispute in progress. Upon arrival, police spoke to the involved parties. After an investigation, it was determined that the female had bitten the male during the dispute. As a result, the 53-year-old female from Belleville was arrested and charged with one count of intimate partner assault. She was released on an undertaking with a court date in October 2023. The name of the accused will not be released in order to protect the identity of the victim.
