Belleville police have charged a 31-year-old Belleville man with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose after an incident in the east end of the city.
Police were called to a housing complex on September 3 regarding an assault with a weapon.
An investigation by police found that a man had been injured in an assault.
A male suspect was identified and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On Thursday, around 9 p.m., an officer on patrol spotted the suspect.
The accused, who was not identified by police, was taken into custody on the authority of the warrant and was held for a show cause hearing.
He is set to appear in court later today.
