The cleanup continues at the fairgrounds in west end Belleville after the 200th edition of the Quinte Exhibition on the weekend.
President of the Belleville Agricultural Society Jamie Chatten tells Quinte News planning will resume soon on the 201st Quinte Ex, but where it will be is still unknown as work continues on the new Black Diamond Road location.
“It’s our intent and our hope that we can get out to the new site just to generate some new interest in the fairgrounds and hopefully get a new pool of volunteers because without volunteers it’s tough.”
It should be known within the next few weeks if the new site will be ready but the Society will stage a fair next Labour Day weekend one way or another.
Chatten had nothing but praise for City of Belleville staff whom he said “went above and beyond” to help the Society’s volunteers both before, during, and after the fair. He mentioned Ken Hoard and Joe Reid by name.
