There is still no news from the Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office regarding the Foodland fire in Colborne last spring.
Colborne Fire Chief Mark MacDonald tells Quite News they are still awaiting the findings from the Ontario Fire Marshals’s office.
“We anticipate them in the not too distant future we hope. They can sometimes take months to finalize their report and have all the different testing and etcetera done, that may need to be done.”
The store is still empty and hasn’t been restored or rebuilt. It’s been boarded up. MacDonald says the community is growing and needs the store.
“Right now we have 700 homes planned for development, for approval, for construction, and there’s not that many homes in the entire village now.”
