Local Health Officials are confident that they’ve contained the spread of the Quinte Region’s first confirmed case of the H1N1 virus. A Centennial Secondary School student has fully recovered and is back in class. The individual was diagnosed with the so called “swine flu” last Thursday. Director of Communicable Disease Control for the Hastings and Prince Edward Counties Health Unit Wayne Tucker says the strain of flu has been very mild in all cases in Ontario. The student was sick the week of April 27th…and, Tucker says while that person was exposed to other people, it appears the virus did not spread.
