The Roblin Lake area in Ameliasburgh will be a lot busier than usual on Saturday (August 26) as the Belleville Beast Swim Team hosts the inaugural Aquathon in the memory of Maddy Kort.
The race will combine swimming and running and will take place around Roblin Lake from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday.
The running route will start at Roblin Lake, go onto County Road 19 to County Road 2, Salem Road, Whitney Road, back to County Road 19 and ending at Roblin Lake.
Maddy Kort was a member of the Belleville Beast Swim Team. Thirteen-year-old Maddy and her 10-year-old sister Joni were killed as the family of six were travelling near Jacksonville Florida during the March break in 2022.
Their vehicle was struck from behind by a cement truck killing the two young girls.
