A man wanted by police took off on the run earlier this week in west end Belleville but his freedom didn’t last long.
Officers spotted the 29-year-old Belleville man on Yeomans Street near Prince Charles School around 10:30 Wednesday. He was wanted on several warrants for past domestic incidents.
He ran away and police cordoned off a large part of the west end and placed a summer camp on the school grounds in a secure and hold status.
The Belleville K9 Unit featuring German Shepherd Bax narrowed the search area and the suspect was found in a Howard Street backyard.
His name will not be released because of the domestic nature of the charges against him.
