Hastings Prince Edward Public Health is reporting five suspected opioid-related deaths for the month of June.
This comes from the health unit’s Opioid Monitoring Dashboard.
So far this year, there are 23 suspected opioid-related deaths. That’s more than there were at this point last year in 2022 when there were 19 suspected opioid-related deaths.
For the month of June, there were 17 opioid-related incidents responded to by the Belleville Police Service and by Ontario Provincial Police, 26 visits to the Emergency Department, and 11 overdoses reported anonymously to the HPEPH website.
Year to date there have been 96 opioid-related incidents responded to by the Belleville Police Service and by Ontario Provincial Police, 114 visits to the Emergency Department, 117 calls to Hastings Quinte Paramedics Services, and 22 overdoses reported anonymously to the HPEPH website.
All stats exceed the year to date from 2022.
