In Cobourg, a 43-year-old man has a court appearance Tuesday following a stabbing Monday morning.
Police responded to a report of a stabbing at a residence on Major Street near University Avenue around 6 a.m.
A 39-year-old was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Brad Johnson of Cobourg is charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and four counts of utter threats to cause death or bodily harm.
Police say the investigation is ongoing but there is no concern for public safety.
