The City of Belleville’s Economic and Destination Development Committee held its meeting at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre at McFarland’s Pub on Thursday.
The committee will be meeting at various locations for its meetings.
Director of Economic Development, Heather Candler, explained the reason for this.
“The reason that we did this was because this committee is working on the Economic Development Strategic Plan now,” Candler explained to Quinte News. “So we’re going to places and spaces and businesses and partners to learn about where there are opportunities for additional economic impact, and to understand what is making economic impact in our community.”
Director of Community Services Dean Hustwick spoke to the committee about the Belleville Senators and their economic impact to the city as well as the city’s sport, tourism and cultural assets.
