Quinte West OPP have charged two people in a stolen vehicle investigation.
Officers responded to a home on Oxford Court in Trenton around 8 p.m. on Thursday on a report of a stolen vehicle.
A short time later, the vehicle was located and the occupants were arrested.
Fifty-two-year-old Paul Helm of Trenton was charged with theft over $5000, possession of property obtained by crime and two counts of driving while under suspension under the Highway Traffic Act.
Forty-five-year-old Tanya Cooper of Trenton was charged with possession of property obtained by crime.
That was not the only charge laid against Helm.
Quinte West OPP responded to a business on South Trent Street in Frankford around 4 p.m on July 16 on a report of a break and enter.
The suspect had left the area before police arrived and investigation was underway.
Helm was charged with the following:
- Break and enter
- Theft under $5000
- Mischief under $5000
He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on August 31.
Cooper was also released and scheduled to appear at a future court date.
