Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is coming to the Quinte region Thursday.
He called Mix 97 and chatted with Sean Kelly about several issues, including the Canada Child Benefit.
“Today’s the day that every month the Canada Child Benefit … and this month it’s going up indexed with inflation. That means more money in families’ pockets for the high cost of raising kids.”
They also discussed the economy.
“Economy’s doing well, there’s lots of jobs out there, there’s lots of signs of a positive future for Canada, but right now things are tight even with inflation coming down.”
The PM discussed his visit to the region.
“Well, I’m actually going to be meeting with kids at the Boys and Girls Club. I’m meeting with families to talk about the impact of the Canada Child Benefit which is going up today by about six per cent, which means an average family of four making about $65,000 a year, is going to see $1,000 more this year.”
