Matthew Campbell has joined the Quinte Health team as Vice President and Chief Transformation Officer (CTO). Jeff Hohenkerk left the position earlier this year to accept the role of President and CEO at Campbellford Memorial Hospital.
“When considering a new vice president to join our team, it was important to us that our new VP not only possess the credentials for the job but also share our values, our aspirations and a passion for high quality, compassionate care close to home,” explains Stacey Daub, President and CEO, Quinte Health. “We also wanted our new VP to recognize Quinte Health for the remarkable organization it is, including the innovative work already underway and the vast potential of our teams and our community at large—Matthew definitely fits the bill.”
Campbell brings sixteen years of experience working in a complex health system in Nova Scotia. He’s led a broad portfolio that includes quality, planning, data, and health analytics. His expertise includes strategy development, operational excellence, innovation, digital transformation, and change leadership.
Campbell joined IWK Health, located in Halifax, in 2007 as an industrial engineer. Shortly after, he took on a range of roles with increasingly complex portfolios, including Director, Planning, Performance and Information Management; Director, Quality, Performance and Process Improvement; Director, People and Organizational Development; and Director, Strategy and Performance. Campbell comes to Quinte Health from his most recent position as a member of the Executive Leadership Team at IWK, where he was the Executive Lead, Performance and System Transformation. He worked in partnership with the Provincial Health Transformation Team on initiatives aimed at improving population health, access to the health system, and the recruitment and retention of healthcare professionals to sustain the delivery of health services.
