Another name from the Trenton Golden Hawks 2022-23 roster has made a commitment for post-secondary schooling and hockey.
Lucas Robinson says he will be attending Wilfrid Laurier University this fall to play for the Golden Hawks.
This past season, he played top minutes as rear guard for the G-Hawks who made an unexpected appearance in the OJHL Championship Series, due in part to Robinson’s stellar play.
He notched 41 points during the regular season and another 16 points in the post-season.
“This is something that we could not turn down,” says Robinson. “I have family in the Waterloo area. They have a great school, a great facility, and a great coaching staff.”
“I will never forget my time in Trenton. Coming to Quinte West was my first time living in Ontario. My brother Kyle played for the Hawks and spoke highly of it.”
“When I was in Halifax (Mooseheads – QMJHL), we would get good crowds, but many of the fans were at the game as part of a fun night out. In Trenton, fans know who you are, the community backs the team, and they are diehard. It was an incredible place to play,” finished Robinson.
The Laurier Golden Hawks are coached by former Trenton Golden Hawks Associate Coach Kevin Forrest.
