A VIA passenger train had to make an emergency stop as it travelled between Trenton and Brighton Tuesday afternoon.
VIA confirmed to Quinte News the train had to quickly brake in the area of Smithfield around 4 o’clock because a dump truck was straddling the track.
The train was delayed almost 15 minutes before the tracks were cleared.
No one was injured.
