Police have issued a warrant following an assault Saturday night in Trenton.
Quinte West OPP responded to an in-progress assault involving a knife in a wooded area near Hanna Park around 11:30.
The suspect fled before police arrived and a search involving the Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit ended with negative results.
Police have identified the suspect and issued a warrant for the arrest of 21-year-old Phoenix Draper for the following offences.
Assault cause bodily harm
Assault with a weapon
Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
Utter threats to cause death or bodily harm – two counts
Fail to comply with release order
Anyone with information about the incident or whereabouts of the accused is asked to contact Quinte West OPP or Crime Stoppers.
The victim, a youth, was taken to hospital for treatment of significant lacerations to his hand.
