What a showing for East Northumberland Secondary School Track and Field athlete Aidan Molenhuis who competed in his first ever multi-event competition at the Royal Canadian Legion Provincial Track and Field Championship in Brampton on the weekend.
Molenhuis competed in the U18 Octathlon, a two-day competition that included eight track and field events, finishing with an impressive 3769 points and earning the silver medal.
His events included the 100 m race (12.61 s), long jump (5.30 m), shot put (7.78 m), the 400 m race (60.45 s), the 110 m hurdles (17.62 s), high jump (1.73 m), javelin (27.70 m), and the 1000 m race (3:02).
