Charges have been laid against a motorcycle driver who police clocked at more than twice the speed limit.
An officer observed the speeding motorcycle while patrolling Highway 37 in Centre Hastings Monday morning around 9:30.
The rider failed to stop for Centre Hastings as well as Quinte West OPP officers and fled the area at a very high rate of speed.
Officers discontinued their pursuit for safety reasons but quickly located the motorbike at the side of the road with a burnt out clutch.
Noah Michelin, 24, of Woodbridge was arrested on charges of:
Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
Flight from peace officer
Drive motor vehicle – Perform stunt – Excessive speed
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on August 10.
