Arrested on warrants
A 45-year-old city man was picked up on an outstanding warrant for multiple charges Friday.
Shortly after 7 p.m., Belleville police were advised that officers with the Central Hastings OPP had arrested the man on warrants held by the city service.
The male was transported and held for a show cause hearing on the weekend on warrants which included charges of two counts each of domestic assault, breach of probation and a lone charge of failing to comply with an undertaking.
A few hours later, at 10:10 p.m., Belleville police officers on patrol responded to a report of a suspicious person in the area of Elgin and Moira streets.
A male was observed attempting to climb onto a balcony of an apartment at one of his former residences. The man was located and found to be wanted on several warrants from Peterborough police for failing to attend court, assault with a weapon and possession of property obtained by crime. The 45-year-old was arrested, transported to the Belleville Police Service and later turned over to officers with the Peterborough Police Service.
