The Belleville Senators have announced they have hired Nathan McIver as an assistant coach.
The 38-year-old joins the franchise after a two-year stint as an assistant coach with the Newfoundland Growlers of the ECHL.
Before that, McIver was an assistant with the Oshawa Generals of the Ontario Hockey League from 2016-2020.
“Nathan is someone I’ve known for a long time. I’ve always been impressed with how high character of a person he is,” said Belleville Senators General Manager Ryan Bowness in a press release.
“When I played against him, he was always a highly competitive player and he has transitioned that same drive effectively to his coaching career. I’m extremely excited to have him on board. He will have a key role in helping develop our prospects both as people and players.”
McIver joins Head Coach David Bell and his staff, which includes Assistant Coach Ben Sexton, goaltending coach Justin Peters and video coach Frederic Lemay.
