The airport at Bancroft is making a bid for some financial support.
Bancroft Community Airport is seeking the support of Hastings County to accompany its grant funding application to the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
In a letter to the county, airport director Pete Butorac indicates the airport is seeking money to replace the aviation fuel tanks.
It wants the county to indicate that it finds a benefit for the airport’s continued operation as a service to Ontarians and support to county functions.
In his letter he says, “As part of the application process, we are asking if you would consider writing a brief letter of support simply outlining that you find a benefit for the airport’s continued operation as a service to Ontarians and support to your functions. We will be seeking the same from all of our partners {DND, OPP, Ornge).
Albeit we are a small facility, our service to the community is steadfast and support of and for our partners is essential.”
The Planning and Development Committee approved the matter on Tuesday and the issue goes to county council later this month.
