The 8th annual Quinte en Plein Air festival is set to begin Thursday.
Artists of various mediums, including watercolour, acrylic, soft pastel, and oil will be taking part in the four-day festival.
“Artists will be out in the community painting and you can come and watch them,” Quinte Arts Council Communications Director Kodie Trahan-Guay told Quinte News.
Trahan-Guay describes some of the different art pieces that will be on display.
“It’s all outdoor nature pieces,” Trahan-Guay said.
“I’ve seen in past years people do amazing watercolors of Glanmore, fantastic pieces about City Hall, you get to just see how everyone interprets the Quinte region.”
Jurors will also be judging the art with over $4,000 in prizes to be won.
There will be first, second and third place prizes, mayor’s choice and people’s choice.
Also planned are en Plein Air demos and a paint-off, as well other painting events for family.
More information on the event and how to register can be found at the Quinte Arts Council’s website.
