The Belleville Chamber of Commerce is growing and is on solid financial ground.
At its 159th Annual General Meeting Thursday, about 30 Chamber members voted to accept
52 new businesses and services, bringing its total membership to 450.
President Dale Hoard pointed to the membership’s diversity that includes manufacturing, social services, and professional and hospitality sectors among several others.
Meanwhile, the end of pandemic restrictions last year led to the Chamber being able to again offer
a full slate of community events including a new one, the Belleville Diwali Festival.
With attendance strong and investments paying off, the Chamber’s revenues were $40,000 higher
than expenses in 2022 and it managed to add a new staff member for part of the year.
