A Belleville Police Service Constable has been chosen as one of five winners by the Police Association of Ontario in their annual Police Services Hero of the Year Awards program.
Constable Kyle Dodds was handed the 2023 Extra Mile Award for showing an extraordinary act of kindness or bravery while off the job.
In a press release, the Association says Dodds goes above and beyond to support the community and
is comitted to tackling human and sex trafficking, including regularly conducting safety checks in local hotels. His work with individuals with mental health issues was also noted by the Association.
Over 240 officers or police civilian personnel were nominated for the awards.
