DRUGS, OBSTRUCT POLICE
A violent incident in Belleville’s west end Wednesday night led to the arrest of a city resident.
Officers responded to Moira Street West around 10:30 after reports that several people were assaulting a male. A baseball bat was involved.
Upon arrival police learned that a combatant had taken off in a vehicle.
That vehicle was quickly located and stopped and the driver was found to have been involved in the assault.
He was arrested for driving under suspension and while being searched, illegal drugs were found, along with scales and some cash.
A 25-year-old man faces several charges including drug trafficking, obstructing police and driving with open liquor in a vehicle.
There’s no word on injuries.

A homeless man is under arrest after a vehicle was vandalized in Belleville Wednesday morning.
Police were called in around 9:30 a.m. after reports of a man smashing out the windows of a vehicle in
a business parking lot on College Street East.
Officers chased down the suspect and arrested him
The 32-year-old man was held for a bail hearing.
