A devastating head-on collision between an SUV and a tractor trailer has left one person dead.
Police, ambulance and fire responded to the scene just east of Peterborough around 1 p.m. where an SUV travelling west collided with a tractor trailer going east.
The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead on the scene. No other injuries have been reported.
The highway was closed for cleanup and an investigation, but has since reopened.
