The province’s Special Investigations Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 59-year-old woman in Kingston Tuesday night.
The SIU says Kingston police responded to a call about a woman in mental distress at a Bath Street residence around 5:45 p.m. and attempted to communicate with the woman.
Around 6 p.m., a 911 call was received about a woman who fell from a balcony.
Police exited the building and located the woman who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Two investigators and two forensic investigators from the SIU have been assigned to the case.
The post-mortem is scheduled for Thursday, May 25.
