Quick response by the Centre Hastings and Madoc Township fire departments kept a small industrial fire from spreading through shingle and
insulation manufacturer IKO Industries.
The call came in around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday morning and was reported as a fire in a duct.
Centre Hastings’ aerial truck was used and the fire declared under control in about 20 minutes, and deemed completely out just before 11 a.m.
IKO Industries is located on Highway 7 near O’Hara Mills Conservation Area.
