McHappy Day in the Quinte region is being hailed a resounding success.
On Wednesday, seven McDonald’s in Belleville, Quinte West, Madoc and Northumberland County, raised nearly $35,000 for The Children’s Foundation.
Ken Schmidt owns restaurants in Quinte West, Brighton, and Campbellford and says they’ve believed in the great work of the foundation for many years.
“Things they have that support children are big in minds as far what we want to do. Helping kids that can’t afford to play hockey, or take piano lessons or do ballet, to scholarships for kids going off to post secondary.”
Bob Doyle owns the restaurants in Belleville and Madoc and says he has a place in his heart for the group.
“The bottom line to me is this is a great area. You know, if you’re going to take, you’ve got to give. That’s been our motto. We’ll support The Children’s Foundation, a lot of other places that come along. You’ve got to give.”
Melanie Cressman is the Executive Director of The Children’s Foundation and says they’re so thankful for the support.
“Reaching every component of that youth’s development. Whether it be something as grand as their confidence, building memories, and building mentorships, and friendships, and lasting memories.”
