The Medical Officer of Health in Prince Edward-Hastings is again taking aim at some Public Health officials for overblowing the outbreak of H1N1 virus. Doctor Richard Schabas told the Board of Health, this morning, that public health officials around the world should learn to be more cautious in how they report on such illnesses. Last week, the World Health Organization, raised its alert level to five….which is one level short of a pandemic.
Meanwhile, Schabas says the the flu vaccine for this fall was prepared in February and will not include protection from H1N1. but, he says if that vaccine is available before next fall…health officials could add a second flu shot.
