A traffic complaint in Prince Edward County led to the seizure of drugs and charges against three people.
Sunday afternoon around 1:30, Prince Edward County OPP responded to a report of a possible impaired driver leaving an address on Bridge Street in Picton, and located a vehicle on Paul Street.
Further investigation led to the arrest of the driver and two occupants.
A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of suspected fentanyl, cocaine and hydromorphone as well as Canadian currency, cell phones and other drug paraphernalia.
With the assistance of the East Region Community Street Crime Unit, three individuals from Perth were charged.
Michael Lewis and Kevin Sincennes, both 43 years old and 38-year-old Timothy Garrett were all charged with:
Possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
Possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking – Other drugs
Possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking – Other drugs
Lewis was further charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs and operation while impaired – blood drug concentration.
Sincennes was also charged with possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000.
All three individuals were released and are to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on June 21, 2023.
The OPP thanks the public for their assistance in reporting impaired drivers and say people should not hesitate to contact police should they believe someone to be impaired.
