Belleville police responded to 106 calls for service over a 24-hour period from 5 a.m .on May 8, 2023 to 5 a.m. on May 9, 2023.
Theft of Tools from Vehicle
On May 8, 2023 at 9:06 a.m., police attended an address on Church St. in regards to a theft of tools from a work truck. The owner reported that sometime overnight, an unknown suspect entered the truck and removed a number of tools from the vehicle including a Milwaukee drill which was in a red case, an axe and an orange high-visibility safety vest.

Public Intoxication
On May 8, 2023 at 10:52 p.m., police received a call from a 60-year-old male who was in the Cannifton Rd area. The male was very agitated and was threatening to cause harm to people and property. Police attended the area, located the male and attempts were made to calm him down. The male became physically aggressive towards the officers and began threatening them. An officer subdued the male with the use of a Conducted Energy Weapon. The male was transported to the Belleville Police Service, charged with public intoxication and later released on a Provincial Offence Notice.
